Kansas, Kansas State Meet in Top-10 Rivalry Showdown
Big 12 men’s basketball is quite the gauntlet. Last night, Texas outdueled Baylor in a back-and-forth affair, while Texas Tech rallied from 23 down to beat Iowa State in overtime. That’s just another day in this stacked league, and tonight we get another showdown at the top of this conference as Kansas and Kansas State face off. That headlines today’s sports slate, which also features some high-profile matchups in the NBA and a battle at the top of the NHL.
Here’s what I’m watching today.
MUST WATCH:
Men’s CBB: No. 7 Kansas State at No. 8 Kansas
The season’s first meeting between these in-state rivals was electric, an overtime thriller won by Kansas State that set off a court storm and vaulted the Wildcats into Big 12 contender status. Now, the Jayhawks look for revenge back home at Allen Fieldhouse after snapping a three-game losing streak at Kentucky over the weekend. This matchup pits two of the best players in college basketball against each other with KU’s Jalen Wilson (38 points in the season’s first meeting) and K-State’s Keyontae Johnson (24 points and the game-winning basket). It should be a blast. There’s no love lost in this rivalry, and a conference championship might be on the line.
